Guinness Wheat record what a shame.

Posted By admin on September 22, 2008

A new combine harvesting Guinness World Record of 532.14 tonnes (1,173,167 lbs) of wheat harvested in eight hours was achieved by a tracked Claas Lexion 580 TT combine working in Lincolnshire, UK, on 17 September 2008.

This new record improves the previous mark of 451.2 tonnes (994,725 lbs) set earlier this summer, which was equalled at 6 hours and 43 minutes of the record attempt, see  http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/adjudications/080918_Combine_harvesting.aspx

A record in one day doesn’t compensate for a record year , we think  due to bad weather we have lost 15% of our wheat yield this year , achieving the correct machinery policy in these ever changing weather and economic times is one of our biggest challengers on the farm.
